It's time for holiday parties in the Northwest, and you want to look your best, whether it be in a flirty party dress or slacks and a sweater.
Want to guarantee you get cornered under the mistletoe?
Look for jeweled-tone dresses in emerald, sapphire and ruby, keep in mind that fur is hot this season, pick purses and shoes in gold or silver to spice up black, and add a sparkling brooch to your outfit to let people know you're up on the newest trends and in a festive mood.
And when it comes to putting great outfits together, you don't even have to hit the downtown boutiques or the Plaza - unique finds are within reach.
Shelly Knol's Miss Holiday, next to Dewar's, offers unique items one usually has to head down south or to San Francisco to find. Employee Colleen Polito said neighborhood teens are already coming in to buy formal dresses. And don't worry - they're keeping a running list of who's bought what so there won't be any "90210," Kelly-and-Brenda-and-the-black-and-white-dress moments.
If you prefer vintage clothing and like the thrill of the hunt, Dixie Brewer's In Your Wildest Dreams consignment store on Rosedale Highway has cocktail dresses, scarves and jackets that are perfect for the "what's old is new again" look.
Here are a few Voice favorites for that company Christmas party, gift exchange with friends or night on the town with a
loved one.
