What time do stores in the Northwest Promenade open the Friday after Thanksgiving? Regardless of the inevitable turkey hangovers, many Northwest residents will arise Friday, Nov. 26, and, fueled by coffee and a leftover slice of pumpkin pie, race to department stores to get in line for the day-after-Thanksgiving sales.
Planning to join in the rush for Christmas presents and bargain-basement deals? Then you'd better get ready to set the alarm.
Here's a list of what time the most popular stores in the Promenade open their doors:
Wal Mart: 6 a.m.
Target Greatland: 6 a.m.
Kohl's: 6 a.m.
Best Buy: 6 a.m.
Linens ‘N Things: 7 a.m.
Fashion Bug: 7 a.m. (Wednesday, Friday and Saturday)
Pier One: 8 a.m.
Dress Barn: 9 a.m.
Cost Plus: 9 a.m.
Babies R Us the Baby Superstore: 9:30 a.m.
Of course, what time the lines form is a different matter. Crowds usually gather outside stores like Wal Mart and Best Buy at 5 a.m. or earlier.
"I predict that by 4 a.m. there'll be a line of several hundred people," said Rosedale Target manager Art Mireles, who said the store will be offering some great deals -- but he can't reveal the specifics.
"Believe it or not, that information is confidential. Not even the staff knows."
