It isn't often that I actually READ fliers and leaflets left on my car's windshield when I'm at the store. But on Monday night, as we were leaving Wal-Mart on Rosedale Hwy., I did read it, and I'm glad I did.

With luck, a Liberty High School wrestler put his flier on my car.  Now, I've decided to help them out by placing their fundraiser info. on a Web site as heavily traveled as this one, which also happens to be THE best web site to post any high school fundraiser!

Turns out that Liberty's wrestling program is in peril. The flier states that their school was able to give them only $600, which will not pay for even one tournament this year.

So, what the wrestlers are doing (besides hoofing it around Wal-Mart's parking lot at night evidently) is holding a golf tournament.  They need hole sponsors, drink cart sponsors, lunch sponsors (you get your name on all the lunch boxes), tee box sponsors (only $100... particularly good if you have a business that would stand to benefit from the business of athletes, golfers, or people living in the Liberty area) and also golfers to play IN the tournament!

I'm going to mail a check tomorrow from my personal account, because I admire the length these athletes have gone to ask for help.

I challenge each of you, too, to donate what you can.  Even $5.00 would be appreciated.  Imagine what good could be done if everyone who read this post donated $5.00 to Liberty Wrestling.

 Here's a portion of the letter that accompanied the flier:

We are asking for donations from people in our neighborhood. If you would like to participate in the golf tournament or would like to donate, we would greatly appreciate your generosity. Any amount would be valued!

100% of these donations will be used for the sole purpose and benefit of our wrestling team at LHS.  This is a fundraiser for a non-profit organization, meaning that you can write it off on your taxes!  This letter and our letter of Thank You indicating your exact gift are sufficient docmentation of your donation fo tax purposes. For your records, our Non-Profit Tax ID number is 77-05-24676.
