The Bakersfield Bulldogs, a 13u travel baseball team, competed in the Triple Crown Fall Finish in Paso Robles Oct. 11-12 and finished 1st place in their first ever 13u tournament to qualify for the Triple Crown World Series in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. The team finished the tournament undefeated and outscored their opponents 56-16. The team was lead with supurb hitting by Max Carter (.786 ave, 11 hits), Ryan Unruh (.615 ave, 8 hits), Kody Wright (8 hits with 4 doubles), Ricky Sottile (6 hits with 1 double & 1 triple) while accumulating a team batting ave. of .444 for the tournament. The Bulldogs were led in pitching by Zac Sullivan, Allan Winans, Max Carter, Monty Stevens, Tucker Caldwell, Ryan Unruh and Kyle Speaks.
Members of the team include Max Carter, Ryan Unruh, Kody Wright, Ricky Sottile, Jake Karwoski, Kevin Lee, Tucker Caldwell, Zac Sullivan, Allan Winans, Monty Stevens, Kyle Speaks and are coached by Rick Sottle, Don Unruh & Cary Wright.

I remember going to this tournament. Great trip--very fun. Great competition. Congratulations! These kids must be quite good. We will be keeping our eye on them in the years to come. Do we have any future Golden Hawks, Patriots, or Titans among them?? :)
