The Orchid is honored to present an inspiring art exhibition by Aliza McCracken, award-winning fine artist/graphic designer/author, showing now through October 31, 2008. This beautiful collection of 23 paintings, drawings and art books feature the vibrant palette and unique style that Aliza is known and loved for.
Ten percent of the net profits from art sales will benefit the Dream Foundation; the first and largest national wish-granting organization for adults with life-limiting illness.
The mission is to enhance the quality of life for individuals and their families during the end of life's journey. Dream Foundation helps adults find peace and closure with the realization of a final wish.
This art exhibit is dedicated to the memory of Aliza's mom, Evelyn: A lovely creative spirit and exceptional mother of 10 children, who recently passed away after a courageous season with Alzheimer's and ovarian cancer.
Aliza states, "Remembering those we love and have lost is such an important part of our lives. Whether we have 40 days or 40 years left on earth, the 'gift' of supporting one another's dreams is beneficial to us all."
The exhibit is located at The Orchid: Thai Fusion Cuisine and Wine Bar, 9500 Brimhall Road, Suite 501, (Corner of Calloway and Brimhall). Voted "Best Thai Restaurant in Bakersfield!" Open seven days a week 11am-10pm.
