Kinship Support Services is a program of Haven Counseling Center that was recently funded by a California Social Services Department grant to operate a support program for family and friends who are raising children who can not live with their parents. The goal is to support adult family and friends so that children who can not live with their parents, can live with people they know.

The center sponsors an open Kinship Support group on the first and third Thursday evenings each month from 6-7:30pm at 316 H Street. They also host a guardianship workshop presented by Greater Bakersfield Legal Assistance on the second Thursday from 6-7:30pm. Other services of Kinship Support Services including parenting education, case management, counseling for adults and children, tutoring, family activities.For more information call 377-0377.
