The Bakersfield Californian wants to do something about the pet overpopulation problem and has developed a program called “Tails of Bakersfield.” Helping Kern’s unwanted animals has never been this easy — or fun. You can show off your pet in the pages of The Californian for a $10 fee that will go directly toward helping out one of our local shelters. Please make your check payable to the shelter of your choice: The Alpha Canine Sanctuary, The Cat People, Bakersfield SPCA, or The Friends of the Kern County Animal Shelters Foundation.
Here’s how to submit:
• Go to The Californian offices at 1707 Eye St. with a photo of your pet. Fill out the Tails of Bakersfield form and pay $10. Your photo will not be returned.
• E-mail your photo to: smallard@bakersfield.com. List your name, breed and age. Include a one-sentence interesting fact about your pet. Photo will run when payment is received.
• Mail your photo and the above information, with your $10 check, to Shanan Mallard, P.O. Bin 440, Bakersfield, CA 93302. Your photo will not be returned.
