I have a very tall and athletic 4 year old. He needs to be exposed to organized sports, yet I am having great diffculty even finding little league baseball for him. There must be something in the Northwest for these children. Hoping you could enlighten me to what's available.

Great question, Katie. I'd recommend the Northwest Bakersfield Baseball League, an affiliate of the national Cal Ripken and Babe Ruth programs. Players at the A level must hit balls pitched to them by machine and, for the first time, they can strike out. The coaches make sure the kids have fun while teaching them the basics of the game. The league has experienced significant growth and is now maintaining three sets of fields at Norris and Fruitvale, as well as fields behind Sam Lynn Ball Park and at Riverview Park.
