Ad was scandalous and tasteless

I am writing in reference to the photography ad that appeared in the Jan. 19 issue of
The Northwest Voice. This morning on my way to work I picked up the
Voice out of my driveway and took it to work with me, as usual. I work at a before- and after-school program at a local church and the children at the daycare and I have always enjoyed looking through
The Northwest Voice before they go off to school. We have also sent numerous pictures of children from our daycare into
The Northwest Voice and enjoy looking through the publication to see if anyone we know is in it or if there are any fun contests to enter. So you can imagine my surprise when I flipped to page 26 and the first thing that is saw was breasts! Taken completely off guard, I quickly turned the page so that the children would not see. I was embarrassed and shocked to see an ad like this in such a family-oriented paper! I have seen Stephanie Boynton's photography before and she does exceptional work with children. But this ad was just completely inappropriate for
The Northwest Voice, a publication that up until this point I would have allowed a child to look through without any concern about content. I would have thought that Stephanie and
The Northwest Voice would have had the sense not to run such a scandalous and tasteless ad in a once-respected publication.
