Stroller Strides, a fitness group for moms with their children, had its Grand Re-Opening Wednesday, May 14 2008, at The River Walk in Bakersfield.

Stroller Strides is a baby-friendly class for moms who bring their babies and toddlers in strollers to class. It’s a total fitness program for moms.

Stroller Strides participant, Gretchen Knaggs said, “I loved going to the Stroller Strides opening with my son, Henry.”  “I got a great workout, had social time with other moms and he had a fun ride through the park. We are definitely going to be regular attendees.”

Stroller Strides is taught by nationally certified instructors who take you through a 60-minute workout including; cardio bursts, strength training and flexibility moves all while including entertaining songs into the workout for the kids.

Instructor, Nicole Giumarra encourages moms to attend classes regularly, “Get ready to achieve a new level of fitness and encouragement, “she remarked.

Stroller Strides was founded by a mother of two children that struggled with the pressures of regaining pre-pregnancy shape in 2001. Now there are over 300 locations and more than 15,000 participants nationwide.

Stroller Strides franchise owner, Christine Royer said, “We had a great turnout of mommies and children.  I love teaching kids about exercise at an early age, it gets them started on the right path.  Stroller Strides is beneficial to both mom and baby.
