Hello All,

This is my first article so please forgive any of my shortcomings, but I need to share this information...

I belong to an excellent group called Soldiers Angels, which is a site you can join free of charge, and you become penpals with a troop stationed overseas (www.soldiersangels.org). I have been writing to a troop for about a year and it's just a little something I can do for the cause - letters, packages, etc.

Friday, I received an email from Soldiers Angels that has been on my mind all weekend. I wondered, 'What on earth can I do..." Then I thought of the Northwest Voice site! Here is the information I received from the Soldiers Angels:

Corporal Evan Morgan was on his second tour of duty in a Iraq when the Humvee he was riding in was struck by a roadside bomb. The 23 year old lost both his legs and the sight in his right eye. Despite spending 15 months in hospitals Morgan treats life as a precious gift. His wife gave birth to a daughter in 2007. Additional information is available on our website: http://www.homesforourtroop....

Folks who are reading, this young man needs a home! He's from Bakersfield and he sacrificed more than we could ever understand... Please click on the above site for additional information as to what is needed for his home. The Soldiers Angels are a nation wide, non-profit organization whose mission is to help our troops.

Please think about who you may know in the home-building industry - anyone!

Pass this along and let's help Corporal Evan Morgan, his wife, and their baby daughter.

Also, check out the Soldiers Angels website and think about becoming a penpal with a troop. They need our encouragement, our prayers, and an old-fashioned Thank You every now and then from regular people like us. I write to my soldier via email, so you don't even need pen and paper!

Thank you for reading and God Bless America (and God bless you, too!)

Jen, thank you SO much for bringing this to our attention. I know I am not alone when I say that Evan's sacrifice will not be forgotten by Northwest Bakersfield.
