Probably in every one of our lives today, the most difficult mission field that we can enter into is the mission field of those who we would count as enemies. As believers, there isn’t one group of people in our lives that God does not want us to reflect His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to. Even the ones that we count as enemies, God’s desire is for us to show them His love and reflect the love of Christ.
The truth is that Jesus died on the cross for all our sins. Therefore, every person that God brings into our life to interact with is a person that Jesus wants us to witness to them about Him.
Jesus says in the Sermon on the Mount, “You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘do not murder’...But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment” (Matthew 5:21-22). What He is saying is, “Believers, listen, don’t waste your life and let anger control you.” If you get angry enough to cut someone off, you’ve just “murdered” them because you’re not allowing God to work through their life on you.
