We would like to thank our neighbors for kindly opening your hearts (and your doors) while we sold Girl Scout cookies door-to-door during March.  Sarah learned many things during the cookie sale including persistence, goal setting, resilience, teamwork, and confidence.  We both learned that we have many kind, supportive, and generous neighbors in our area!  Thank you for helping Sarah make her goal and supporting our troop and Girl Scouts.

Howcome it seems like they did the cookie sale earlier this year? I remember buying Girl Scout cookies in late March last year in front of Savemart on Hageman Road. I didn't even get to get any cookies this year and Girl Scout cookies are a traditional purchase for me in March. I know they can't make it to every neighborhood, but I haven't seen them sell in the neighborhood I live in for several years (if ever) and I live in one of the safest (if not THE safest) neighborhood in Bakersfield. I (along with some of my neighbors probably) would have gladly bought cookies if they would have come around. I'm home an awful lot and I didn't see any girl scouts come to my neighborhood. I'm not trying to rant on the efforts put forth by anyone involved with the cookie sales, I'm just wondering why it seemed like they sold them earlier this year than most years. I love the cookies and now have to wait all the way until next year (or longer) to get some.

Thank you so much for looking forward to cookie sales each year. The sales are usually start with pre-orders in mid-January. This year, cookie booths were from February 29 to March 16. Many of my scouts prefer to cookie booth and sell to their personal friends and family rather than sell door-to-door, but there are scouts (like mine) who rely on door-to-door sales for their numbers. I am sorry we missed you! You can find out more about our local girl scout council at girlsfirst.org. They announced the sale dates on this site this year under "product sales". Hope to see you next year!
