On Oct. 12, six first grade classes waited anxiously to present two songs to the entire student body, parents and visitors at Veterans Elementary School’s first Student of the Month Assembly!

The students felt excited and privileged to be the first to step up on stage and be spotlighted. They sang “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” and “Take Me Out to Kern County Fair” to commemorate a recent field trip. The students sang loud and proud. There were giggles and laughter heard throughout when the students twisted their caps backwards for the second song.

The first graders did a great job as the first class to present in our newly finished multipurpose room and I wanted to  give them their hard earned recognition.
