Congratulations Shockwave 12U Girls Class "A" Fast-Pitch Softball Team.
The Shockwave completed its season by competing in the 2005 USA/ASA Girls Class "A" Fast-Pitch Softball National Tournament in the host city of Aurora, Colo.
The Shockwave was one of 92 teams out of over 2,000 to qualify for the tournament, and one of three teams at the tournament whose players are considered 11 years old.
The Shockwave finished with a 0-3 record. However, the record does not tell the whole story. Game one was against Grants Pass (the Oregon state champs). The Shockwave held them 0-0 until the bottom of the last inning, losing 1-0. The second game was against the Xplosion (No. 2 in Arizona). The girls lost 3-0. Game three was against The Fresno Force (No. 1 in central California). The final score was 10-2.
The Shockwave had an amazing inaugural season, experiencing everything from walk-off home runs to shocking tournament comebacks. The Shockwave also had some stellar pitching performances, which helped to reveal the true heart of this team.
The Shockwave dads received a special Father's Day gift when the girls clinched second place in central California at the Metro Tournament in Paso Robles.
A special thank you to The Shockwave parents and siblings for your unwavering support of all the players.
Thanks to The Shockwave girls for your hard work and dedication. Players include: Megan Sweet (catcher), Leah Munden (pitcher), Kassidi Ward (first base), Kelsey Luttrell (second base), Cassie Campos (shortstop), Brenna Moss (third base), Dani Hockett (left field/pitcher), Traci Shcnaidt (center field/pitcher), Tavia Rutherford (right field/first base), Brittney Roberts (outfield/second base),and Makaela Jones (outfield/third base).
Shockwave coaches are Mike Sweet, Kent Roberts and Brad Ward.
You'll get 'em next year, girls!
