The 10-and-under team, coached by Mike Sweet, went undefeated at their qualifier in Paso Robles, Calif., last weekend. They took first place in the tournament, securing a spot in the 10-and-under National Championship, scheduled for August 2 to August 8 at ABC Park in St. Ann, Missouri.
The 12-and-under Red team, coached by Jeff Joseph, also took first place at their qualifier. They will attend the 12-and-under National Championship, scheduled for August 2 through 8 in College Station, Texas.
The 12-and-under Blue team, coached by Tim Hernandez, earned a record of 1-2 before being eliminated from their national qualifier. The team did a fine job, and will spend the rest of the summer attending other California tournaments, improving their game and having fun.
The 14-and-under team, coached by Steve Blackwood, placed fourth in their national qualifier. The fourth place finish earned them a bid to the regional tournament on July 10 and 11 in Paso Robles. There, the elder Blast team will need a first or second place finish in order to qualify for the 14-and-under National Championship, scheduled for August 2 through 8 in Moreno Valley, Calif.
