Cathy has lived in Northwest Bakersfield for the last year.  She

has one son.  Cathy is has been employed as the much loved

Activities Director at the Hallmark of Bakersfield Assisted Living

Facility for the last four years.  This recipe for Steak Spaghetti

was given to her by a great aunt and has become a family favorite.

 

 

 

                                   Steak Spaghetti

 

2 lbs round steak, cubed

1 bunch parsley chopped (leaves only)

4 stalks of celery, diced

1 bell pepper, diced

1 large onion, diced

garlic to taste (3 pods)

1 large can tomatoes

1 can water

1 tsp allspice

1 tsp nutmeg

2 tsp cinnamon

2 lbs spaghetti

 

Brown round steak cubes.  Add parsley, celery, bell pepper, onion and garlic. Sautee slowly until lightly colored. Then add tomatoes, water and spices.  Cook 4 – 5 hours at a simmer.

 

Cook spaghetti and then wash.  Add a little oil and mix with fingers.  Pour into a casserole dish and add sauce.  Grate cheese on top if desired.  Sharp works well.
