OLD-FASHIONED PEANUT BRITTLE

2 cups sugar

1 cup white corn syrup

1 cup water

2 cups raw peanuts

Dash of salt

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 teaspoon butter or margarine

2 teaspoons soda

Cook sugar, syrup and water on medium heat until it spins a thread. Add peanuts and cook until light brown in color. Remove from heat and fold in salt, butter and vanilla. Add soda last. Quickly pour onto butter foil and allow to harden. When cold, break into pieces.
