St. John’s Lutheran Church, 4500 Buena Vista Road between White and Panama lanes, is excited to announce the launch of a brand new Awana program!
Each Sunday afternoon from September through June, St. John’s will welcome children from age 3 (two years before they enter kindergarten) through sixth grade to participate in this Bible-based program. You are invited to join us at our kickoff on Sept. 9 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in the Education Building.
Awana was founded in 1950 in Chicago, and is now one of the largest non-denominational children’s and youth ministries in the world, focusing on spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ through the local church.
Today, Awana can be found in 12,000 churches, 114 countries and six continents around the world.
St. John’s Lutheran Church serves families from Bakersfield through a variety of ministry programs. Worship services are held on Saturdays at 6 p.m. and Sundays at 8, 9:30 and 11 a.m. with our Sunday School held during the 9:30 a.m. service. We welcome you to join us.
