According to The Bakersfield Californian, energy giant BP plans to build a natural gas electricity plant in an oil field the company owns north of Bakersfield as part of its initiative to create low-carbon power.
What do you think about this plan?

The smaller the carbon footprint, the better. Let's just hope that locally-produced electricity will have a positive impact on all of our electric bills. There are so many viable alternitive energy sources available, many of which can help to reduce pollution and husband our shrinking fossil-fuel supply. This county can make a positive mark for itself by encouraging the Kern River Crude producers to start investing in alternitive fuel sources. It's going to become a necessity much sooner than later. My opinion is that the BP plant is a good idea, and that we need more good ideas like it.
