We want to nominate Pati Jones for Educator of the month. She has been our swim teacher for three years (she is also a first grade teacher at San Lauren). She has taught me a lot about swimming and how to be safe in the pool. She is a really good teacher because she taught me how to swim in the deep end without my life jacket. She also lets me dive down and get the rings. We can both jump off "the rock" and swim to the side now. She really improved our swimming!

I would like to nominate Ms. Chelsea Zent of Norris Middle School as the teacher of the the month because she has been a wonderful teacher who has helped me through my time of need. I was diagnosed with cancer at the beginning of the school year which meant I could no longer attend regular school. Ms. Zent stepped up to the plate and volunteered to be my home school teacher. This meant after teaching a full day at school she would drive to my home and spend another one or two hours teaching me. Ms.Zent brightens my day every time I see her! She is such a great teacher and learning with her is always lots of fun. She helped me believe in myself. Sometimes she would bring my brother Alex, and I cookies, that was cool!! I am really happy Ms. Zent was my home-school teacher and now she will always be my friend.

I would like to nominate Mrs. Jabo from Olive Knolls for the
educator of the month. She is the Pre-K teacher that everyone wants! She
is a small woman who makes a huge difference in every child's life that
she encounters. Both of my children have had her before they enter the
world of kindergarten. We meet Mrs. Jabo before my kids were in her
class because she was the nice lady with a smile who would pull my
crying daughter off of my leg long enough for me to run out the door. The
next year that same crying, little girl had Mrs. Jabo for Pre-K and
never shed a tear again! Now my son, a little more of a challenge, is in
her class and is learning so much. Every child is different and Mrs.
Jabo knows how to handle them all while getting them ready for
kindergarten. It is amazing how much they learn and grow while with her. They
learn to read, write, sing, plant gardens, eat healthy, and about their
bodies. Before I took my kids to Olive Knolls, I had heard about this
amazing teacher named Mrs. Jabo, and now that I have known her for 5
years, I now understand why everyone said, "You have to have Mrs. Jabo
for your kids!" I would like to thank Mrs. Jabo for loving my kids
everyday while I was at work and for teaching my kids to read and love
school!
Ms.Van Allen is a Special Ed. teacher at Freedom Middle School. She is always willing to stay after school to help any kid that needs extra practice. Ms. Van Allen is always smiling and cheering people on. Ms.Van Allen is also a farm owner and a great mom. That's why I think my mom Amy Van Allen should be The Northwest Voice Educator of the Month.

Ms. Perron is a first grade teacher at Wingland Elementary School. I am nominating Ms. Perron for educator of the month because my son Cameron has developed so much since being in her class. She blends her love of Western culture with lots of songs and rhymes that make learning fun and easy. Cameron’s favorite thing about Ms. Perron is how she brings in things that are in books she reads to the class. This brings the books to life and makes the kids want to read even more.

and thanks to Mrs. Mills my writing has improved.

She was not only an effective teacher, she also

made learning fun. Mrs. Mills was someone who

She was always prepared for any questions we

threw at her. Mrs. Mills always loved to entertain

us with her funny stories from her past. One of my

favorite stories she told us was when she fell off her

but I know that there will be other students who

will enjoy her teachings as much as I have.

I will truely never forget Mrs. Mills.

It is my pleasure to nominate Jennifer Stout for The Northwest Voice Educator of the Month. Her laughter can be heard across the kindergarten playground, and she is never hard to spot because there is always a group of children surrounding her.

In her busiest moments she will stop to listen intently to a small child’s story about last night’s dinner or a sick pet.

Despite the high energy 5 and 6 year olds can bring to school, her classroom flows beautifully and the children have fun while they learn.

Thanks for such a great opportunity to recognize someone that gives so much!

I am in my first year of preschool at Olive Knolls Preschool. I think my teacher, Miss Dolores is the best! Miss Delores makes school fun. Miss Delores teaches my class with a lot of singing. I learned all my ABCs, days of the month, days of the week, names of the months, my numbers and much more by singing. I have also learned a lot about this great place where I live, America. Our class salutes the flag and I know all the words to pledge of our flag. I love Miss Delores and I love the USA. I know that Miss Delores loves all of the children in my class because it shows! Miss Delores is always smiling, that makes me happy, too. I can tell Miss Delores loves being a teacher! Well, I wish you all could know Miss Delores, she is a very special lady.

Miss Jill is a very good Sunday School teacher. I especially love her snacks and crafts. My favorite lesson she taught me was when Joshua sent two Israelite spies into Jericho and they met a girl there who believed in God. One Sunday, we went outside and pretended we were the Israelites crossing the Jordan River. I love Miss Jill because she is nice and very thoughtful. Miss Jilll is the best Sunday School teacher I've ever had.
