About Robin

Hello, everyone.

The name's Robin. I graduated from Liberty High School on May 31, 2007. (For those who didn't realize it, there was a blue moon that night!) I'm currently taking off-line and online classes through Taft College, but I intend to switch over to BC and get my AA in journalism. Taft College has the saddest college newspaper I've ever seen. (Well, sorry. The truth hurts sometimes!)

I love writing, copy editing and the English language. I hope to work for a newspaper someday, although I have not yet decided where I'd prefer to work in the field of journalism. Photography is my favorite hobby and I usually take my camera with me everywhere I go. I'm a terrible gardener, but I love to grow things anyway. Oh, yeah, and I love animals, too! I have quite a few critters.

I'm a bit boring and not quite normal for my age. That's basically who I am in a nutshell, honestly.

Hi Robin. I have a good one for you and this is a serious request...if you have the time. I am requesting your help here as someone who isn't 'family', friend or associate, and somewhat annonymous. You qualify to help #1 because you are a student and in #2 high school. What sort of a project would you suggest for my 14 y/o daughter while she waits out her 3 day suspension for writing "something" on the back of a friend's shirt in class? (this friend requested her to write it, by the way) I don't really want to hear picking up trash, community service, cleaning house, or any of that those are a given. We have all her school books so she'll have her school work done. She's pretty smart, has a few friends, a MySpace...but isn't really interested in website work like I do or blogging for that matter. We've been putting together a website called teens-bakersfield but it hasn't come very far. I am finding it difficult for her to use her imagination with it and so far it's kind of boring. Do any topics, website ideas...activities come to your mind for her to 'have-to' do while she is doing her time here at home? You are the expert being the only student who is accessable online. Hey, thanks for your time. I appreciate it. Sooz

I concur with Maria. You obviously have a lot of stories in you. Submit some articles to run in The Northwest Voice. Good writers like you no longer have an excuse. You can't claim that nobody will print your stuff anymore. The floodgates are open, just in time for your entry into the media scene!
