Jan and her husband Chris have lived in the northwest for the last 12 years. They have three children, seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Jan got this recipe for Strawberry Salad from her niece. It is a family favorite, nice for potlucks and a great holiday dish.
Strawberry Salad
1 large box of strawberry jell-o
1 c boiling water
1 20 oz can crushed pineapple (drained)
3 bananas chopped
1 bag frozen strawberries
1 c nuts chopped
Mix all these ingredients together. Layer one-half of the mixture in a 5 x 8 dish. Put this in the freezer for 20 minutes.
Spread 1 container of sour cream (IMO) over jell-o layer.
Pour second half of the jell-o mixture over the top of the sour cream. Refrigerate for 1 hour or longer.
