The Northwest Voice, a free publication written largely by your unpaid neighbors, teachers, students, pastors, nurses, retirees, and others, serves as an outlet to encourage community members to express an idea or post a photo, and gives opportunities for thousands of people to keep connected and learn the news in their own neighborhoods. It is delivered twice a month to homes in Northwest Bakersfield, less often than we have to drag our trash bins to the curb. Perhaps some people find the twice-monthly home delivery a nuisance. Has our community gotten so big, and have we lost touch with our slow paced past to such a degree that we can no longer tolerate the hassle of a complimentary community paper left unobtrusively on our driveways? Is it a strain on our local citizens to walk down and throw away (if not read) the paper?
