"One of these things just doesn't belong here"....I remember listening to the Sesame Street song in the mornings before going to elementary school.  I honestly can say that this "one of these things just doesn't belong here" song developed a type of discernment in me that allowed me to see "outside the box".  The song was in my head when circumstances just "didn't seem right".  Children know instinclively right from wrong and I know for certain that "one of these things just doesn't belong here" instilled in me a sense of hmmmm.....that when one sees a snake, then it's a snake?

Anyway, I would be honored to take our daughter to the Sesame Street performance and sing along to some good old fashioned Sesame Street tunes.

Sincerely,

Tracy Simpson

As I sit and write a blog, my prayers go out to all those who are suffering from the Virginia Tech tragedy.

Another realization that life is so precious.  So many times we act as if the world revolves around us and nobody else understands what we are going through and that if only...

The people who lost there lives so tragically will not have a if only, they will not get a chance to tell their best friend how much he/she means to them or graduate from college.  There last breath was most likely taken with fear in their eyes.

All I can do as a wife, mother, sister, aunt, friend and neighbor is to treat others how I want to be treated...with love, respect and kindess and with no "what ifs"...life is too short!

So, the dogs aren't barking as much and we are so thrilled.

Soon, the kids will be out of school and we will be hearing the ice cream trucks...okay, I realize that they donot fall into the "neighborhood etiquette"; however, somebody should do something about the annoying songs they play over, and over and over and over, did I say OVER again?

How about some Mozart?  Maybe some Kenny G?  or how about some 70's music? okay, I've come undone:)  For those of you who "got that", I don't feel so old, for those of you who didn't...I am sorry for the inside joke.

Anyway, for now...we will go out into our backyard and enjoy a BBQ without the contstant barking.  Soon, we will hear THIS OL MAN...and ALL AROUND THE MULBERRY BUSH and hear those "songs" in our sleep, but at least it won't be the dogs...the glass is half full:0)
