No barking was heard last night.  I believe that things are going to be better from here on out regarding the barking dogs.  I will continue to communicate with our neighbors and encourage all who have similar problems to do the same and to follow the golden rule.

Life can be easier, it's our choice on how we react.  My reaction to this particular "problem" was a positive one.  I pray I continue to make good choices.

Last night was a "turn the volume up" night regarding the dogs.  I will be going over to the neighbors house tonight to let them know that the dogs are interrupting sleep in our family.  I realize that the world does not revolve around us...learned that one at an early age...however, I live by the golden rule and hope that others share that rule...in a perfect world maybe???  I will share the results of the "intervention" tomorrow.

As I sit and type my first blog on neighborhood etiquette, I am thinking of how to properly describe how I have been feeling about our neighbors dogs nonstop barking.  First of all, we have a dog.  A golden retriever/english springer mix.  He is 3 years old and fortunately the only time he barks is when he is letting us know if somebody is on our property, or if another dog is in the surrounding area or if we aren't throwing the ball quick enough.

We purchased our home 2 years ago.  Our previous neighbors had two small dogs...need I say more?  Constant barking.  Nonstop.  So, when we moved here and didn't hear barking, we were so happy.  Until...our neighbors sold there house and new neighbors moved in.  In a perfect world, new prospective neighbors would have to submit a resume and an interview process would insue.  Okay, that will never happen.  I was just daydreaming.  Anyway, our new neighbors have a small dog and a puppy.  Can somebody tell me...what were they thinking?  We wake up in the a.m., barking...All day long...barking.  We go to bed...barking.  Today, while watching  T.V. I had to turn up the volume all the way because they wouldn't stop.  Right now, it is quiet.  A peaceful sound of silence.  For now, I will enjoy this silence......
